Uttan Faces the Same Problem Every Year, But No Action is Taken

Uttan, February 2, 2025 – Residents of Uttan are struggling with air pollution and toxic waste due to the Uttan dumping ground. Every year, fires break out at the site, sending thick smoke into nearby villages. During the rainy season, toxic water from the garbage spreads, creating serious health risks.

People living in the area say they are tired of complaining because no action has been taken. Every year, we face the same problem. The smoke makes it hard to breathe, and during the rains, the entire area smells bad. We are suffering, but the authorities are not listening, said a local resident.

Toxic Air and Water: A Growing Health Risk

The burning of waste releases harmful gases, causing breathing problems, especially for children and elderly people. Rainwater mixes with garbage, producing a toxic liquid that seeps into the ground, polluting water sources. Locals have also reported an increase in health issues like coughing, allergies, and infections.

Residents Demand Action

People of Uttan are now demanding to prepare the proper waste management System. They are urging the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to take action before the situation gets worse.

If the authorities continue to ignore this issue, locals are planning protests and legal action. Uttan local issues like this need urgent attention before they turn into a bigger disaster.

How Much Longer Will Uttan Suffer?

The people of Uttan want clean air and a safe environment. They are asking one simple question: How many more years will we face the same problem before authorities take responsibility?
